It is a common fact that Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan crushed Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman in the General Elections of 2013 in Pakistan. They were campaigning over the NA-24 seat of Dera Ismail Khan City constituency, and according to all official and unofficial reports, it was Senator Waqar who had a significant lead over Maulana Diesel. So much so, some reports confirm that the lead was of more than 60,000 votes at some point. However, with the help of massive rigging and corruption, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman was able to wrench the seat of NA-24 from Senator Waqar.
However, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman cannot snatch away the memories from the minds of the people of Dera Ismail Khan, the memory etched in their minds of Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan crushing him in the elections.
