GAT General Math Tip no.7: Word problems
There would be a lot of questions which are going to be word problems. I have seen that it is very difficult for the students to attempt these questions for the reason that they have to deal with English and math at the same time. If you have decided to join a GAT preparation institute it is very important for you to let your instructor know that you need practice questions for the word problems. There is no point of asking the teacher to solve it. You should think and read the question again and again and then if you do not know the answer you should seek help of the teacher. A very common practice in class is the moment I hand worksheets to students they ask me to solve it; they do not even look at the questions. So now I give the worksheet for home and we solve it in the next class and I ask them to solve all the questions even if they are solved incorrectly.
