Board of Intermediate and secondary education, Lahore formerly known as Board of Secondary Education, Punjab was formulated in 1954 as a governing body to conduct examinations across the province of Punjab. It was later divided into more divisions and other boards were established. Now, the BISE, Lahore is responsible to hold exams in the districts of Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib.
Exam Structure: Exams are conducted separately for class 9 and class 10. The promotion in High school is based on the result of both exams.
Registration: The registration of regular candidates is processed with reference to their institutions, while the private candidates have to submit their registration forms individually.
Registration Fee: The registration fee for year 2013-2015 is Rs 800/= and the RS 200/= pertains to processing fee.
Matric Examinations: The matric examinations are conducted in the month of April.
Date sheet: Date sheets are announced 15 days before exams.
Roll No slips: Roll no slips are issued 10 days before exams and are available online on the official website.
Result: Results of Matric examination are announced in the month of August. It is available on website and in the form of gazette.
Passing Percentage: The minimum passing percentage in examination is 33% in each subject.
Scholarships: BISE. Lahore awards multiple scholarships to the outstanding students. the criteria and application forms are available on official website.
Preparation and syllabus: the examination comprises of all the content and concepts of text books. Hence to score well, one should prepare well all the books and may take help from guidance material.
Sample Papers: sample papers are available on www.pacans.com or at the official website of board. You can also purchase hard copies from your nearest book shop.
